I am the connector and my job is to connect things in the story to things in my life. I found a couple of things in the story that relate to me and my friends. one thing was that me and Mary Lou have a lot in common. We both like to keep journals and our best friends are boy-crazy. Also Mr.Furtz died just like my neighbor. Another thing that happened was Dennis cut his leg badly. That happened when a spring cut him but it happened to me in a whole other way. When i was riding my bike when i was little i fell off and cut my knee and there was blood everywhere. Carl Ray and my cousin Ryan are both very skinny, very pale and don’t talk a lot. Thats about all the connections I have with the book.

1. Describe Beth Ann’s new behavior. How does Mary Lou feel about it? Beth Ann’s new behavior is that she is so boy crazy about this kid that her sister hooked her up with his name is Derek. Mary Lou is very upset about this because Beth Ann was her best friend and now she’s blowing her off for some guy that she doesn’t even know.

2. How does Mary Lou react when Mr. Furtz dies? Mary Lou was surprised that Mr.Furtz died because he looked so healthy. She said that “your just doin the dishes and then all of a suden the phone rings and you think it’s going to be some one calling you just to say hi but then they tell you that some one died.” Mary Lou was speechless when she heard this news. She didn’t know how to react so she was sad but also didn’t care a little.

I am the passage master and i think the most important part of the book so far is on page 56-58. This part of the book is important because the the Finney’s new neighbor Mr.Furtz unfortunatly dies. The finney’s found out about this tragic accident at dinner time.  the finney’s were shocked. Mr.Furtz dies because he has a heart attack.The Finney’s were histerical. Dennis felt espicially bad because when he cut his knee Mrs.Furtz, Mr.furtz’s wife tookhim tothe emergency room. She took him to the emergency room after he egged her house.

Mary Lou is a 13 yr. old girl that has to make a journal on what she did over the summer. she also has family members that drive her crazy. she also have a cousin that doesn’t talk very much, coming from West Virginia. His name is Carl Ray. When Sally Finney herd about this she wasn’t happy.

When Mary Lou and Dennis were moving the bed down from the attic to bring to Carl Ray’s room, the bed slipped and one of the springs popped out and cut Dennis’s knee. There was a lot of blood. Mary Lou had to go over to the house that Dennis egged because no one else was home, to ask for help. She rushed over and took Dennis to the hospital. Mrs.Furtz wouldn’t let Mary Lou gowith to the emergency room.

Mary Lou was scared that her brother Dennis might die because of something she saw in a movie. She also thought if he died maybe she would get all his stuff. Afterward she felt very gulty.when Dennis got back he didn’t have to do anything and he got lots of ice creame and ginger alle.

Carl Ray got treated like a king. He got to sit in the special chair, got to sit in dad’s chair, and got to go into the bathroom first. The kids were furious.
